This is like an explosion card, but I secured it with glue so it actually doesn’t flatten out. I needed something to put a gift card in for Emma’s friend Jenna’s Birthday party tomorrow. Thought this would be cute.
I started with a 12×12″ cs and then folded it in thirds … every 4″s. (you can scale it to whatever you need, I wanted a bigger box) Then trimmed off the extra bulk.
Then folded it on the diagonal, at the outer corners. Then folded it in.
More folding. Then just secure the flaps inside with glue tape.
Okay the lid. It’s 6×6″ with 1″ lid flap & trim ends to tuck & tape under.
Now to decorate. Maybe Spritzer/Air Brush with Markers for speckling.
More decorating. Using Cuttlebug templates on the Sizzix & some rarely used “wave scissors”
More decorating, ribbon: Folded back & forth, like toothpaste? (my kids use a lot of toothpaste on their brushes & then spit it in the sink! Frustrating!) so like toothpaste or well like this:
To hold the ribbon in place, I put some slits in the bottom. Glue Spots would have worked too.
I used Brads at the top. One of the sides of the ribbon is just secured with a glue dot for her to easily open. The other side is secured with the brad to the lid of the box.
Hope she likes it. Jenna is a sweet kid. Happy 9th!

nice tutorial , thank you.
