A while back, Emma Sian was given two beautiful roses from DH on her last performance night. She asked if she could keep them in her room. I said ‘okay’ wondering where she was going to put them as any flat surface in her room is generally covered, but when I went up to take this picture I saw she had arranged some of her favourite things on a piece of fabric from my craft area. Too funny. You can’t see her “high school musical” poster in the picture, but everything else is pure Emma.
Tonight, DH & I were struggling with Emma Sian about “boundries” and asking permission to do things. I forget that she’s going to be 9 next week and she desparately wants some more freedom. Sigh. We are in the middle of balancing responsibility with what we deem as earned privileges. It’s not going to get any easier and my goal is to raise a daughter that knows how to make the right decisions. For now, almost 9 is still, almost 9, … little girl and this picture reminded me of that. Prayers for God’s guidance throughout this would be greatly appreciated.

This is AWESOME!
