Here, Kelly of SCS, has a challenge: AUG08VSNA, Brown Bear Brown Bear, What Do you see?.  We were permitted to use the any of the animals of the beloved classic, “Brown Bear, Brown Bear” by Eric Carle, and the only condition is … match the colour.  I started off with Red Bird, but that didn’t work, then Brown Bear, nope … I ended up with this tiny baby card:

The inside of the card, I just put a bit of trim to cover the Rick Rack bits & the underside of the Circle Scallops.

Used:  Bashful Blue Ink & Markers, Bashful Blue CS, Yoho Yellow textured CS & Certainly Celery textured CS, 1/4 inch circle punch, Cuddles & Tickles & Baby Frame stamps (S.U. Retired), Mini Glue Dots, Scallop Punch, 1 3/8″ Punch, Versa Mark Ink & Mustard Yellow Embossing Powder (S.U. Retired).

Check out what others on SCS have come up with here.

Got the new Catty!

Woo-Hoo!  Went to Marlayne’s, (my demonstrator’s) openhouse last night for the new Stampin’ Up Catalogue.

Oh my, oh my.  The new list starts.  Look at all the thing you can do now.  Somewhere D.H. is shuttering.  Marlayne had two great projects for us & here they are.  You can tell I was a bit nutty last night as we were in groups at tables so as I was colouring somebody was stampin’ or punchin’ or tap’n.  Every single one of us crazy for stampin’ up or just plain crazy.  LOL.  Had a blast, Thanks, Marlayne.  (seen here on ONE of her TV appearances on Daytime Rogers demo’ing the Decor Elements) and also on August 12 on A-Channel morning, HOW COOL is that?!  She did a great job.

Okay, onto the cards.  Check out the KNOT!  Maybe you knew this but I didn’t:  Tie it & then take the ribbon off the card, turn inside out & put back on, so the nice flat side shows.  Makes total sense, don’t know why I never thought of it.  Quothe Martha:  “it’s a Good Thing”.

Here’s the second card. Done with 3 colours, 1 stamped & 2 with daubers.  I’m sorry, I don’t have the colour break down.

This is a tutorial I followed from SplitCoastStampers by Sandy Hulsart on Spring Cards

Here’s my take on Sandy’s idea and Emma-Sian’s 9th birthday card:

The underside of the card looks like this:

I used the coluzzle circle cutter & cut out the inside of the circle & THEN used the rounded slit punch by stampin’ up to create the scallops.  I saw that technique recently & thought it was brilliant.  I would give you a link, but the computer I book marked it on (my lap top) is fried … I am now much more diligent with my computer time, as I now hide down in the basement to surf until the computer gets fixed … send it off … hmm a few weeks.  Yikes.

Quick, fun & easy card, thanks Sandy.

UPDATE:  Found the link for the scalloped edge idea:  Sunny Stampin’ with Andrea Walford
